In the water, Hunter Develice looks just like other competitive swimmers. He is fast, he can hold his own against opponents, and even lap many of them. His kicks and turns are precise. His long distance swimming is quite exceptional and it made him win Fun du Lac swimming team’s first medal of the year in the 400 meter race. For many children with autism, visiting malls to see Santa can be unbearable. But it does not mean that they cannot share the same happy holiday moments everybody has. With people like Ray Lepak, the holiday season is merrier for everybody.
Ray, of West Hartford, CT, is the 69-year old granddad of a boy who has autism. He sees how difficult, and in fact impossible, it is for parents of children with autism to get a snap of their children with Santa.
